For The Kudos (Podcast)

Brett Robinson

Brett Robinson is the fastest Australian to ever run a Marathon after running 2:07:31 in December 2022, breaking the previous Australian record that stood for 36 years (previously held by Rob de Castella). He is also the fastest in the half marathon, and the only Australian to break the 60 minute barrier, after running 59.57 in Japan in 2020. Brett has been one of Australia’s top distance runners over the past 10 years winning a number of Australian Championships on the track and road. He was a finalist at the 2013 World Championships and 2016 Olympic Games over the 5000m. In recent years he has turned his attention to the marathon, representing Australia at the Tokyo Olympics, and winning the 2021 Melbourne Marathon.

Outside of his own running career, Brett co-created Pulse Running, a coaching business to help recreational runners improve their running. The Pulse community now has 10 coaches and close to 200 athletes. Tapping into his experience of being one of the world’s best distance runners, Brett has helped his athletes to run personal bests, complete their first marathon, or just improve their health and fitness.

Now, through Grattan House and the For The Kudos podcast, Brett hopes to reach even more running fans and give listeners personal insights into the top echelons of athletics.

Joel Tobin-White

Joel’s early sporting years resulted in many National podiums in both Running and Triathlon before becoming a professional triathlete at the age of 18. He spent four years  in the Victorian Institute of Sport triathlon team racing across the globe before deciding that running was his true passion. Joining Melbourne Track Club under coach Nic Bideau in 2017, his breakthrough result came in the 2019 Marugame Half Marathon (Japan), running 62:03 (15th All Time Australian). Running a 5,000m PB of 13:38 and 10,000m PB of 28:47 in 2022, Joel continues to improve each year as he sets his sights on the longer distances, aiming to continue Australia’s rich history of producing great marathoners.

Joel is studying a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) and currently works as a coach with Pulse Running. His passions outside running lie mostly in the arts – as an avid record collector he started Dart Echo; a DJ Mix Series and record label in its embryonic phase. As a designer Joel leads the art direction for Grattan House, and involves himself in various freelance design projects.

Through For The Kudos and other expressions under the Grattan House network, Joel aims to provide the audience with a front row seat to watch a promising athlete reach the top flight of international competition.
