Hailing from Jervis Bay, NSW, Debbies are a two-piece rock band comprised of best mates Noah Egan and Alex Robertson. With a sound that combines those summery slacker vibes with upbeat hard-hitting rock melodies, the duo draw influence from the likes of West Thebarton, Hockey Dad, DZ Deathrays and Polish Club.
The band have fast become one of the most buzzed-about new names in Australian rock music after being named one of the five triple j Unearthed High finalists for 2019. Charging into 2020 off the back of a big summer, which took them to Falls Festival for an activation stage, the duo recaptured the confidence with the release of their buzzy new single ‘Waking Up In L.A’. With it’s infectious chorus, the single drew high-praise when it was premiered on triple j’s ‘Good Nights’ before gaining a spot rotation on radio.
Having supported names such as Totty, Surf Trash, Bugs + many more, 2020 looks set to be the year that young duo firmly establish themselves throughout the Australian music scene with much more music and many exciting shows on the horizon.
