Bakers Eddy formed in 2009 in Wellington, New Zealand, when 4 slacker mates, Ciarann Babbington, Jamie Gordon, Ian and Alex Spagnolo, decided they wanted something to do other than skate.
Kicking it all off in NZ, they supported bands such as Gang of Youths, The Rubens and Highly Suspect (US), as well as playing at Homegrown in Wellington all while avoiding going to uni and getting real jobs.
Since moving to Melbourne in 2017, they’ve shared the stage supporting the likes of Ali Barter, WAAX, The Bennies and many more. After scoring the local Unearthed slot at Falls Fest ‘18/’19, their festival repertoire has only continued to grow – winning crowds over with their raucous and unpredictable live sets for summer 2019/2020 at NYE on the Hill, Festival Of The Sun, and Party In The Paddock.
Now signed to Mushroom Publishing and Ivy League Records, the band have started off the year by releasing ‘T Shirt’, which received the same Triple J love and support they’ve gained since making their mark on the Australian community.
Bakers Eddy’s sound is loud, fast and dirty – it reflects the bands happy-go-lucky mentality of giving zero fucks.
